YG’s New Girl Group “BLACKPINK”


June 29, 2016 ~ YG Entertainment , the home of 2ne1 and Bigbang – award winning groups , revealed the final line up of their new girl group named BLACKPINK, which consists of four members.

August 8, 2016 ~ Blackpink released their single album Square One. They held a Debut Showcase which was broadcast live on Naver’s V App. Their tracks “Boombayah” and “Whistle“s Music Video was directed by the directors of 2ne1’s “I am the best” and Bigbang’s “Fantastic Baby”.

August  14, 2016 ~ The group’s first music show performance was aired on SBS’s Inkigayo.


Kim Ji Soo

                 Kim Ji-soo [김지수] was born on 1995 in South Korea. She’s trained for 5+ years. Prior to her debut in Black Pink, she appeared in numerous commercial films including one for Samsonite RED with actor Lee Min-ho , and advertisements for Smart Uniform and LG Stylus 2 with YG Entertainment’s boy group iKON. She also appeared in a number of music videos from other artists under YG Entertainment, such as Epik High’s “Spoiler + Happen Ending” and Hi Suhyun’s “I’m Different”. In 2015, she made her first drama appearance in KBS’s The Producers ,  together with label-mates Sandara Park and Kang Seung-yoon.

Jennie Kim

                  Jennie Kim [김제니] was born in 1996 in South Korea. She studied abroad in New Zealand. Fluent in Korean, Japanese, and English. Trained for 6+ years. She had several appearances and featurings on her labelmate’s albums like G-Dragon’s “That XX” , Lee Hi’s “Special” , Seungri’s “GG Be” and G-Dragon’s “Black”.

Rose Park

                   Roseanne Park or Park Chae-young [박채영] was born on 1997 in Australia. Raised in Melbourne & Box Hill, where she attended Canterbury Girls Secondary College. Trained for 4+ years. She placed first at YG auditions in Australia and joined the agency in 2012. She was featured on G-Dragon’s “Without You”.

Lisa Manoban

                  Lalisa Manoban or Pranpriya Manoban [ปราณปริยา มโนบาล] was born on 1997 in Thailand. She started dancing at a young age and was part of a dance crew. Childhood friends with GOT7′s Bambam as they were both part of the dance crew We Zaa Cool. Trained for 5+ years. She was the only person accepted into YG Entertainment during the company’s audition in Thailand in 2010, and is YG’s first non-Korean artist.
